What is Hallstrom Home School Workshops?
Hallstrom is a large, well-organized, educational co-op of Christian parents and teachers.

What is our Purpose?
The purpose of Hallstrom is to provide high quality, academically challenging, spiritually uplifting classes to supplement, support, encourage, but not to replace, what is being learned at home.

Our workshops are a unique educational experience in that we combine a high level of commitment from parents, students, and teachers. We are a Christian ministry strongly committed to all that is best and highest in home education, and intend only to aid and supplement what dedicated families are already pursuing at home.

What is our Spiritual Objective?
The spiritual objective of Hallstrom Home School Workshops shall be to provide an academic environment which supports the Christian faith. HHSW instructors and board members must, therefore, understand the foundational function of the HHSW Statement of Faith and be in agreement with the Statement of Faith or the Nicene Creed.

What Are the Costs?
There is a $12 Registration Fee per class per family (not to exceed $60) per semester. Each family also pays a $22 Building and Cleaning Fee each semester. Additionally,
Temple Baptist
requests a $12 Student Fee per semester.

Families who register for classes on both Tuesdays and Thursdays pay the Cleaning Fee and the Temple Baptist Student Fee for both days.

These fees do not cover the teachers fees. The class fees will be determined by each teacher. We ask that you be prompt in paying the teacher their required fees. There is a Teacher Payment Schedule in the Appendix of the handbook for your convenience. Teachers may be paid at the beginning of the semester for the entire semester or in four monthly payments due the first week of each month. For your convenience, there is a teacher payment envelope in the family files at the Board Table.

NOTE: The second week of each semester is Add/Drop day. If you have not dropped a class by this time, you are responsible for all the teacher fees for that semester, whether or not you withdraw from the class.

How Does HHSW Operate?
The policy decisions of HHSW are determined by the Board of Directors, who are appointed by the Chairman of the Board. The Chairman is elected by the parents who are HHSW participants. The election will take place at one of the regular HHSW meetings.

The primary responsibility of the Board of Directors is to represent Christ and Christlike ideas in setting forth policies for HHSW. The Boards secondary responsibility is to fairly represent the families and teachers who participate in our workshops. Teachers at HHSW function as independent contractors, working in agreement with the HHSW Board. More details on how HHSW operates may be found in the HHSW Constitution and By-laws.
