BEGINNING IRISH DANCE
Grades 4 to Adult
Semester Fee: $48*
Class Size: Min. 6, Max. 12
This is an introduction to Irish Dance including some of the history of this unique and popular kind of dance. Proper technique and execution of the beginner jig, reel, and slip jig will be taught. Boys, girls, and adults are all invited to participate!
*Four monthly payments are fine.
REQUIRED MATERIALS: For class: appropriate attire that allows for active leg movement (shorts or warm-ups with elastic at the ankles), water bottle, folder. For performances: plain kelly green t-shirt (provided by instructor), tan/beige twill shorts, white socks (ankle high).
 
INTERMEDIATE IRISH DANCE
Grades 5 to Adult
Semester Fee: $48*
Class Size: Min. 4, Max. 12
This year the class will build on what they have already learned and focus on learning more challenging steps, hard shoe steps, and group dances. Boys, girls, and adults who have already taken Beginning Irish Dance are all invited to participate!

PREREQUISITE: Beginning Irish Dance
REQUIRED MATERIALS: For class: appropriate attire that allows for active leg movement (shorts or warm-ups with elastic at the ankles), water bottle, folder. For performances: plain kelly green t-shirt (provided by instructor), tan/beige twill shorts, white socks (ankle high), or poodle socks. Although they are not required, it is recommended that participants have Irish Dance shoes (soft shoes). If used shoes cannot be found, new, soft shoes are approximately $35 to $50. Every effort will be made to assist finding used shoes and then re-selling shoes within our classes as students outgrow them.
 
BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE BALLET & TAP
Grades 2 to 12
Semester Fee: $30 fall, $48 spring
This class will include instruction in ballet and beginning jazz. Intermediate students (both boys and girls) should have had two years of ballet and know basic ballet arm and feet positions. We will use only music that glorifies the Lord and students will always be encouraged in their walk with the Lord. Beginners are also welcome.
 
WORSHIP ARTS SEMINAR
Grades 9 to 12
Semester Fee: None
Class Size: Min. 10, Max. 30
Music, theater, puppetry, and other arts disciplines will be explored in this team-led workshop setting. Part of the goal is involvement in weekly chapel service. This class incorporates the Drama Ministry class previously offered by Mrs. Englert.
PREREQUISITE: Previous training or experience in chosen arts discipline.
 
DEBATE & ORAL INTERPRETATION
Grades 9 to 12
Semester Fee: $80
Class Size: Min. 5, Max. 25
God appoints us to defend our faith. As preparation for this, we will learn how to participate in a formal debate. We will also cover public speaking skills for large and small group settings. Finally, this class will offer the students the opportunity to hone their talent in oral interpretation and a reader’s theater activity. One parent is required to attend the first class of the semester. Parental attendance is encouraged throughout the semester for maximum effectiveness for at home discussions on topics related to the class.

SPEECH
Grades 7 to 12
Semester Fee: $66.50
Class Size: Min. 10, Max 20
An important skill that everyone should learn is public speaking. The goal of this class is to help students develop strong communication skills and feel comfortable and confident in the art of public speaking. Topics include: Introducing a Speaker, Demonstration of a Hobby, Giving a Toast, Using an Overhead Projector, and Oral Interpretation. This is a year-long class.
 
EVERYDAY GENTLEMEN (fall)
Boys, Grades 3 to 12
Semester Fee: $60
Class Size: Min. 10, Max. 20
This 12-week class (a few weeks shorter than the HHSW semester) will help ordinary young men to become outstanding gentlemen. The class will cover diet, exercise, hygiene, grooming, dress, posture, and communication. In addition to the external development, we will focus each week on a character trait to be developed in their lives such as chivalry, ambition, self control, honesty, loyalty, courtesy, resourcefulness, contentment, and purity.
 
EVERYDAY CHARM (spring)
Girls, Grades 7 to 12
Semester Fee: $60
Class Size: Min. 10, Max. 20
This is a 12 week class (a few weeks shorter than the HHSW semester). The class will focus on methods for maximizing your outward appearance while we develop our inner beauty. Session topics will include exercise, diet, grooming, posture, hair styling, nail care, fashion and clothes, and a review of the rules of etiquette.
 
EVERYDAY ETIQUETTE FOR LADIES AND GENTLEMEN (fall)Grades 3 to 12
Semester Fee: $60
Class Size: Min. 10, Max. 20
This is a 12 week class (a few weeks shorter than the HHSW semester). Learning manners is important because it equips you for life! The principles taught in this class can be used everyday, for the rest of your life! Manners help you develop people skills and give you confidence in various social situations. Class will cover proper table setting and dining skills, words that work magic, meeting and greeting, telephone manners, conduct in public places, manners at home, how to be a gracious guest and a hospitable host, and how to be a good friend. In addition, each day a new food item will be introduced and instruction will be given on how it is to be properly consumed. This course qualifies for health related course work. The semester fee includes all supplies.
 
ADVANCED ETIQUETTE (spring)
Grades 3 to 12
Semester Fee: $60
Class Size: Min. 10, Max. 20
This is a 12 week class (a few weeks shorter than the HHSW semester) for those students who would like to know the finer details of manners and etiquette. This covers the following: fine dining (the six course meal); the art of letter writing; out and about -- theater, weddings, funerals, and special events; tea etiquette; conversation and small talk; manners at school; restaurant etiquette; and entertaining. The Semester Fee includes all supplies.
PREREQUISITE: Everyday Etiquette class.
 
FALL DRAMA PRODUCTION
Grades 7 to 12
Semester Fee: $85
Tryouts will be in May. Two summer workshops will be held. The Semester Fee is for actors (covers script and royalty fees.) A stage crew (to handle props, lighting, etc.) will be needed by mid-semester but will not be charged any fee.
