Mission Statement

The purpose of Hallstrom is to come alongside home school Christian parents who desire their children to grow strong in the Lord and to receive an outstanding education.

Hallstrom offers home schooling families a unique co-op experience with an emphasis on flexibility, affordability, quality, and high Biblical standards. Families will find academic and elective classes at Hallstrom to complement any home schooling approach. Hallstrom meets once per week on Tuesday at Crosspoint Church in Rockford and is designed to accompany and support homeschooling at home the rest of the week.

Since 1993, Hallstrom has existed to help families home educate successfully from preschool through high school. Our workshops are a unique educational experience in that we combine a high level of commitment from parents, students, and teachers. We are a Christian ministry strongly committed to all that is best and highest in home education and intend only to aid and supplement what dedicated families are already pursuing at home. Hallstrom parents, teachers, and Board members understand the foundational function of the Hallstrom Statement of Faith and are in agreement with our Statement of Faith or the Nicene Creed.

The policy decisions of Hallstrom are determined by its Board of Directors, whose members are appointed by the Chairman and current Board Members. The primary responsibility of the Board of Directors is to represent Christ and Christ-like ideas in setting forth policies for Hallstrom. The Board's secondary responsibility is to fairly represent the families and teachers who participate in our workshops. Teachers at Hallstrom function as independent contractors, working in agreement with the Hallstrom Board.

"Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved even in his sleep. Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; they shall not be ashamed, when they speak with their enemies in the gate." — Psalm 127

FIRE Girls Basketball Donations

Rockford Fire is super excited to announce the addition of Girls Middle School Basketball and Girls High School Basketball for the 2023/2024 season! Several of our female students expressed interest in playing and we are excited to offer girls the chance to play with their classmates and other home schooled athletes from the area.

To keep the program reasonably affordable for all families we are hoping for support in the way of tax deductible donations. We have been very careful in creating a budget, but the costs associated with renting game facilities, referees, tournament entry fees, adds up. Since this is our first season, there are also one-time costs such as purchasing basketballs for practice and games, uniforms, and more.

Our overall goal is $6,000.

If you can donate to our program, we would truly appreciate your support.

 Sponsor a Specific Need:
