Rockford F.I.R.E. Boys' Basketball Background Information
Mission Statement:
Our athletic program strives to develop homeschool athletes spiritually and physically, while boosting confidence and emphasizing integrity, teamwork, and perseverance. We seek to honor God through athletic competition by promoting character development, good sportsmanship, and a commitment to excellence. We believe sports provide an opportunity for athletes to grow in faith, discipline, and service, and are an opportunity to glorify God as athletes grow in their faith.
Core Values:
Our core values are Faith, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence.
Faith - Demonstrating faith by trusting in God's plan, maintaining integrity, and using sports as a way to witness to others.
Integrity - Acting with integrity by playing by the rules, showing respect for opponents, coaches, and officials, and maintaining honesty on and off the field.
Respect - Respecting teammates, coaches, opponents, and spectators, understanding that sportsmanship reflects their faith.
Excellence - Pursuing excellence not only in their physical performance but also in their character, working to honor God in everything they do.
F.I.R.E. Vision:
We aim to use sports as a platform for teaching biblical principles of teamwork, perseverance, and grace, while empowering our athletes to become leaders who represent Christ in every aspect of their lives.

Parents are expected to volunteer throughout the season to help cover the needs of the program. Volunteer needs might include doing the book, running the clock, helping with setup or teardown, and the running concessions.
Fees:
An annual sports-only registration fee of $180 for each family is due to Hallstrom Homeschool Workshops for families that are not already taking classes at Hallstrom. Families that take classes at Hallstrom will not be billed an additional registration fee, as their semester registration fees include F.I.R.E. sports. Uniforms are provided on loan, at no additional charge, for the season and must be returned on time at the end of the season to avoid any additional charge.
Athletic fees are separate and cover all regular season games. Tournaments may result in additional player fees; although, participation is dependent on overall team interest, availability, and coaches' discretion. Transportation, food, and hotel expenses (when applicable) are not included. Athletic fees are due in two installments, with half being due on Oct. 1st and the remainder due on Nov. 1st.
