Dress Code and Guidelines for 2023 Hallstrom Dance, “Night Under the Stars”
The purpose of this dress code and these guidelines is to promote behavior that honors the Lord. As a group of Christian families, our witness to others, both in word and action, is very important. “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” (Colossians3 :17)
All students will be held responsible for their actions showing regard for established authority and the rights and welfare of others. We ask that students seek excellence, be honest, use clean speech, and be courteous and kind to all.
At all HHSW events, students must not wear inappropriate style of dress including dressing in such a way as to willfully reject one’s sex assigned at birth. (Gen. 1:27) This means that there will be no cross dressing at the dance.
Dress Code: Students who arrive out of dress code will be asked to leave, so they can go home and change.
Ladies: Attire must be modest and not excessively tight. No cover ups (shawls, sweaters, coats) will be allowed over dresses that do not meet the dress code.
Tops:
*Strapless dresses are not allowed.
*Straps must be minimally 1” in width.
*The top of dresses must be high enough to cover without cleavage.
*The cut of the back of the dress must not be lower than halfway down your back.
Length:
*Dresses/skirts must be knee length and no two piece dresses.
*Slits in dresses/skirts must not be higher than 3 inches above the knee.
Gentleman: This is a dress up event. Please wear dress pants or khakis. No jeans, shorts, sweatshirts, or t-shirts.
No pairing off as couples in other rooms in the building. All students must remain in the open gym area. Public display of affection is not allowed. Provocative dancing is prohibited.
Other Guidelines: A HHSW Board Member will address any students not following our guidelines. Failure to cooperate will result in those students being sent home.
Hallstrom Board Members reserve the right to address any behavior or dress that may not be mentioned in this document, but which violates our Hallstrom Code of Conduct. The Hallstrom Board asks that a parent and the attending student sign this document agreeing to follow our dress code/guidelines including our Hallstrom Code of Conduct.
